Colitis is when the large intestine (also called the colon) is inflamed. Causes for colon inflammation include: infections, whether caused by a virus, parasite or food poisoning, inflammatory disorders (ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease), lack of blood flow (ischemic colitis) and radiation prior to large intestine.
The treatment of colitis depends on the cause. Many cases can be resolved by including clear liquids in the diet to let the bowel rest and using medications to control pain. You can use home remedy tips many way.

To make the cabbage water, put some cabbage leaves in a pot with water and bring it to boil for 10 minutes. Let cool and drink the water.
Another option is if you have a juice extractor, you can get the juice out of the cabbage. Take half a cup (4 ounces) of cabbage juice four times a day until the symptoms disappear.
The cabbage juice should be kept refrigerated and it lasts three days in the fridge. As a preventive measure you can take half a cup of cabbage twice a day.

In the results it was observed that patients with ulcerative colitis improved seven days after starting the consumption of cabbage juice.
The bananas (banana) are very effective in treating ulcerative colitis. They are a soft food, easy to digest and slightly laxative. Bananas alleviate the symptoms of colitis and accelerate the healing process.
The general recommendation is to eat one or two bananas a day.
